Egypt international Ahmed Hegazi is reportedly set to depart Saudi giants Ittihad Jeddah after four seasons at the club.
Having joined Ittihad in October 2020 from West Brom, Hegazi still has two years left on his current contract with the Tigers which will expire in June 2026.
However, Qatari news outlet Alkass has revealed that the current season will be Hegazi’s last in Jeddah after the club’s board agreed to let go of his services.
The 33-year-old towering defender is the current captain of Ittihad and made 21 appearances for the club this season in which he scored twice after missing the first half of the campaign due to an ACL injury.
Since his €3 million move from West Brom, Hegazi has made 101 appearances in Saudi Arabia, scoring 12 goals and helping the club win the domestic double during the 2022/23 season.
Having represented Ismaily, Al Ahly, and Fiorentina during his career before his move to England, whether Hegazi would remain abroad or return to Egypt has yet to be seen.
