FIFA has set a preliminary date for the 2025 Club World Cup draw, taking place in the U.S., where Egyptian champions Al Ahly will compete.
The draw is set to take place in December 2024. The expanded tournament, featuring 32 teams, will kick off on June 15, 2025, and conclude with the final on July 13, 2025, at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, which has a seating capacity of 83,000 spectators.
Al Ahly will participate in this tournament, marking its entry into the first expanded version of the competition.
The Reds have already featured nine times before in the Club World Cup in its old format, clinching the bronze medal on four occasions in 2006, 2020, 2021, and 2023.
In addition to Al Ahly, four other Arab clubs will also take part: Wydad Casablanca (Morocco), Esperance (Tunisia), Al Ain (UAE), and Al Hilal (Saudi Arabia).
The tournament will be held across 12 stadiums in the U.S., making it a significant expansion from previous editions of the FIFA Club World Cup.
