Abdallah El-Said’s lawyer has told the media that Al Ahly are obliged to pay 3.5 Million EGP which are the costs of arbitration and lawyer fees in the dispute between both parties.

In an interview with ON Sports, Hany Zahran – the player’s lawyer said: “CAS has sent from two days each party allocation of the arbitration fees”.

He revealed that Al Ahly has to pay 70% of the fees which equals 63 Thousand CHF, 3.5 million EGP, adding that the club has to pay the aforementioned amount in 30 days or risks a transfer ban.

The dispute between Al Ahly and Abdallah El-Said started In 2018 when the club sent the player out on loan to Finnish club Kuopion Palloseura after his famous issue. El-Said had signed for Zamalek, before extending his deal with the Red Devils. Shortly after, Al Ahly sold him to Ahli Jeddah for a fee of around €850,000.

One of the main contract clauses was that El-Said was not entitled to join any Egyptian team throughout his contract with Al Ahli Jeddah. In case of violation, the African champions shall receive $2m.

The dispute started when the player terminated his contract in Jeddah to join Pyramids FC on a free move after just six months.

The legal procedures kept going back and forth between El-Said and Al Ahly, leading the latter to freeze the player’s bank accounts. As a result, El-Said went after Al Ahly in CAS and in January 2023, CAS judged that the player was due 19.5 CHF as compensation.

In November 2023, another 10,000 CHF was added to the above amount as extra compensation.

CAS allocation of arbitration fees between the parties should put an end to a saga that has been going on since 2018 once and for all.
