Al Ahly Mohamed El Shenawy

The EFA appeals committee reduced Mohamed El Shenawy’s suspension to two matches and upheld the fine after reviewing a complaint from Al Ahly.

The Egyptian Football Association’s appeals committee cut Mohamed El Shenawy’s suspension to two matches on Sunday and upheld the fine imposed on the Al Ahly captain. The decision followed the club’s complaint against the earlier ruling.

The EFA said the appeals committee accepted the complaint in form before it amended the sanction against the goalkeeper.

Earlier, El Shenawy received a four-match suspension and a fine of EGP 50,000 after an incident in the match between the Red Devils and Ceramica Cleopatra.

As a result, the club will lose their first-choice goalkeeper for two domestic matches instead of four.
