Al Ahly is reportedly interested in re-signing former striker Mohamed Sherif if he becomes available during the January transfer window.

According to reports, Al Ahly is closely monitoring Mohamed Sherif’s situation at his current club, Al Khaleej.

His contract with the Saudi club expires at the end of the season, and the African champions are prepared to make a move if Al Khaleej allows him to leave for free or for a reasonable fee.

The Egyptian forward has seen limited playing time this season, having participated in only two games due to injury. Additionally, reports suggest he may not be part of Al Khaleej’s long-term plans under their current manager.

During his previous stint with Al Ahly, Mohamed Sherif played in 151 games, scoring 58 goals and providing 11 assists. He also won 11 trophies with the club, including three Egyptian League titles, two Egyptian Cups, two Egyptian Super Cups, two CAF Champions League titles, and two CAF Super Cups. His best performances at the club came when he was the top scorer in both the Egyptian Premier League and the CAF Champions League during the 2020/2021 season.
