Al Ahly have submitted a new proposal to Hungarian side Ferencvárosi in their attempts to sign Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane.
The new offer is believed to be valued at $2 million as Ben Romdhane is keen on moving to Cairo to represent the African champions.
Ben Romdhane has been linked with a move to Al Ahly for a long time now, since his days at Espérance, and now the rumours have intensified this summer.
Saudi Club Al-Okhdood are also in the race to sign the Tunisian international, but the Reds hope that their increased offer and the player’s desire will fend off the Saudi interest.
Al Ahly are keen on signing Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane in order to replace Aliou Dieng, who left to join Saudi club Al-Kholood earlier this summer.
Ben Romdhane, 24, has been plying his trade at Ferencvárosi since the summer of 2023, joining on a free transfer from Espérance, making 42 appearances in which he scored four and made eight assists.
He has also featured for the Hungarian giants this season, scoring twice on the opening league game of the season, while also featuring off the bench against Midtjylland in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers.
Ahead of his time in Hungary, the Tunisian midfielder was playing for Espérance Sportive de Tunis, winning the 2019 CAF Champions League and five Tunisian league titles.
