FIFA Club World Cup

African champions Al Ahly have been placed in the third pot for the FIFA Club World Cup draw, set to take place in Miami.

Al Ahly joins a competitive third pot that includes Wydad Casablanca (Morocco), Red Bull Salzburg (Austria), Al Hilal (Saudi Arabia), Ulsan Hyundai (South Korea), Monterrey and Club León (Mexico), and Botafogo (Brazil).

The first pot features Europe and South America’s top teams. Representing Europe are Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Manchester City, and Paris Saint-Germain, while Palmeiras, Flamengo, Fluminense, and River Plate represent South America.

The second pot consists of seven European clubs, Juventus, Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund, Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan, Porto, and Benfica, along with South America’s Boca Juniors.

The fourth pot includes teams from Africa, Asia, and North America. Africa is represented by Esperance and Mamelodi Sundowns, while Al Ain (UAE) and Urawa Red Diamonds (Japan) represent Asia. North America has Seattle Sounders, Inter Miami, and Pachuca (Mexico), with Auckland City completing the list as the sole Oceania Football Confederation representative.

The FIFA Club World Cup draw is set to begin at 8 PM Cairo time on Thursday, December 5th. The tournament will take place in the United States, starting on June 15, 2025, in Miami and concluding with the final in New Jersey on July 13, 2025.
