Al Ahly receive Qatari offer for Amr El-Sulya

Al Ahly and Egypt midfielder Amr El-Sulya has reportedly received an offer from an unnamed Qatari club ahead of the summer transfer window.

El-Sulya has been an indisputable part of the Al Ahly squad since joining the club in January 2016 from Emirati side Al-Shaab, making over 300 appearances for the club.

He helped the club win three CAF Champions Leagues in addition to six league titles, four Egypt Cups, as well as three World Cup bronze medals.

However, his time in Cairo could be coming to an end soon as he received a proposal to play once again in the Gulf region after his stint with Al-Shaab in 2015.

According to Qatari news outlet Al-Kass, an unnamed Qatari club wants to bring in the 34-year-old midfielder for the next season to ply his trade in the Stars League.

If the news turns out to be true, El-Sulya will be the second midfielder Al Ahly lose to Qatar after Hamdi Fathi, who joined giants Al-Wakrah in a 3 million move last summer.

El-Sulya’s contract with Al Ahly runs out by the end of the current campaign and it’s still yet to be see whether both parties are keen on extending the stay.

This season, Amr El-Sulya has made 18 appearances for Al Ahly, scoring once against Simba in Al Ahly’s road to the CAF Champions League final.
