Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal are reportedly lining up a move to sign Joao Cancelo in the summer transfer window.

Joao Cancelo had joined Barcelona last summer from reigning English champions Manchester City on a loan deal until the end of the season.

The Portuguese right-back was reportedly set to extend his stay with the Catalan club but could be heading to the Middle East according to the latest development.

Diario Sport’s latest report confirmed that Barcelona were hoping to secure another loan deal for Cancelo as they could be unable to secure the 29-year-old’s services on a permanent deal.

The reason for that is Al-Hilal’s recent intervention in the negotiations as Barcelona may not match the Riyadh side’s reported bid.

Despite that, the former Juventus defender had previously affirmed his desire to remain in Europe which could be a key part of the discussion with his parent club.

With eight goal contributions in 32 games in all competitions this season, Cancelo has managed to rediscover his form with Barcelona after a short loan spell at Bayern Munich last season.
