Al Ittihad have reportedly renewed interest in Mohamed Salah after the Liverpool forward announced he would leave the club.

The Saudi Pro League club wanted Salah in 2023, but Liverpool rejected a £150 million offer. Reports are now circulating that Al Ittihad have already restarted work on a deal for the 33-year-old Egypt captain.

The club wants a new marquee name after Karim Benzema moved to Al Hilal in February. Al Ittihad see Salah as the leading option.

Reports also say Al Qadsiah are the only other Saudi club capable of matching Al Ittihad financially. Al Hilal, Al Nassr, and Al Ahli are not pursuing Salah at this stage.

The Egyptian forward announced on Tuesday that he will leave Liverpool at the end of the season. He signed a new contract in April 2025, but he will now end his Anfield spell one year earlier than planned.

He leaves Liverpool as one of the club’s most successful players. Salah has scored 255 goals in 435 appearances. He ranks third on Liverpool’s all-time scoring list.

Since joining Liverpool from Roma in 2017, he has helped Liverpool win eight major trophies. Those titles include two Premier League crowns and the Champions League.
