Saudi side AlKholood have officially announced the departure of Aliou Dieng, confirming the Malian midfielder’s return to Al Ahly.

The decision to cut the loan short was reached in coordination with Al Ahly, as both clubs emphasized their strong relationship and mutual understanding in a joint agreement.

The move allows Aliou Dieng to rejoin his parent club in time for the Cairo giants’ Club World Cup campaign.

In an official statement, AlKholood expressed deep gratitude to Dieng for his professionalism and outstanding performances during his stint in the Saudi Pro League, highlighting his contributions to the team’s midfield throughout the season.

“Aliou Dieng showed exceptional commitment and technical quality. We thank him for everything he gave to the team and wish him continued success with Al Ahly and the Mali national team,” the club said.

The Mali international is expected to feature in the Red Devils’ Club World Cup campaign opener against Inter Miami, led by Lionel Messi, on June 15. Al Ahly will also face Palmeiras on June 19 and Porto on June 24 in what promises to be a competitive group.

Following Dieng’s standout season in Saudi Arabia, Al Ahly reportedly received multiple offers for the midfielder but ultimately rejected them in favor of reintegrating him into Jose Riveiro’s midfield setup for the upcoming campaign.
