Barcelona Hamza Abdelkarim

Barcelona are reportedly planning to activate the purchase option for Egyptian forward Hamza Abdelkarim, who’s currently on loan at the club.

Barcelona have reportedly informed Hamza Abdelkarim that they intend to activate the purchase option in his loan deal from Al Ahly, according to Diario Sport.

The move would make the youngster’s transfer permanent after he joined Barça Atlètic on loan until June 30, 2026.

Per the agreement, Al Ahly are expected to receive a base fee of €1.5 million, with performance-related bonuses that could reach €5 million. The Cairo giants will also retain a 15% sell-on clause in any future transfer.

The decision follows the forward’s recent performances with Barcelona’s youth side, which is said to have impressed the club’s coaching staff. He scored a hat-trick in a 9-0 win over Montecarlo as Barcelona’s Juvenil A side sealed the league title.

Abdelkarim came through Al Ahly’s youth system and became the first Egyptian to play for a Barcelona side.
