The Egyptian National Beach Football Team has missed out on qualifying for the Beach Soccer World Cup after a 2-1 defeat to Senegal in the semi-finals.
This marks another setback for Egypt against Senegal, who also denied them the AFCON title in the last tournament by winning on penalties in the final.
The winner of this semi-final would have secured a spot in the World Cup in Seychelles, as the top two teams automatically qualify. Unfortunately, Egypt’s loss has ended their hopes of advancing.
The team will now face the loser of the Morocco vs. Mauritania match to compete for third place.
Egypt started the tournament well winning the three group games and finishing first in their group.
The sixth edition of the CAF Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations is currently taking place in Hurghada in Egypt.
