Besiktas president Serdal Adalı confirmed that the club submitted its final official offer to Mohamed Salah and asked for a quick response.
Adalı provided the update in an exclusive statement to Turkish outlet Orta Çizgi this morning. “As has already been reported publicly, we have been negotiating with the player and his representative for some time over all the details of the transfer,” Adalı said.
“After discussing every aspect of the request submitted to us, we presented the player’s side with our final official offer. We also told them that we expect them to inform us of their decision within a short period.”
Adalı said Besiktas considered the increases and amendments requested by the player’s camp while protecting the club’s financial interests.
“Since the initial talks, we have evaluated all the requested increases and adjustments in accordance with Besiktas’s interests and submitted our final offer,” he added.
As previously reported, the agreement could run for one year with an option for another season and pay Salah up to €12 million annually.
The Besiktas president previously alleged that Salah’s representative, Ramy Abbas, raised his commission demand to around 35% after reports claimed that the parties had completed the transfer.
At the time, Adalı said Besiktas could not accept that percentage and suggested that Salah might not know about the reported demand.
Abbas had also previously rejected claims that Salah had already decided his future.
“I personally do not know where Mohamed will play next season,” he wrote after reports of an agreement first emerged.
