Cavin Johnson predicts Al Ahly victory in CAF Super Cup

Former Al Ahly assistant coach, Cavin Johnson, predicts victory for his former club in the upcoming CAF Super Cup clash against Zamalek.

Johnson served as an assistant manager at the Red Castle during Pitso Mosimane’s stint with the club between 2020 to 2021.

Speaking to Yallakora, Johnson stated: “I believe Al Ahly will win the Super Cup. They’ve shown more consistency this season, and Marcel Koller has done an excellent job with them.”

The South African coach admitted he hasn’t watched Zamalek much this season but remarked: “I always hear negative news about them.

“Al Ahly will be stronger in midfield. Players like El Shahat and Tau always manage to score crucial goals. As for Zamalek, Zizo has been a player I admire a lot.”

Notably, the last team the two met in this competition was in 1994 in South Africa, where The White Knights came out victorious.

The highly anticipated match between the Cairo giants will take place in Riyadh, with the CAF Super Cup title on the line.

The showdown is set for Friday, September 27, 2024, at 9 PM CET.
