Celtic have reportedly reached an agreement to sign Haissem Hassan for just under €7 million plus around €3.5 million in add-ons.
Haissem Hassan has received permission to undergo his medical and complete the contract paperwork with Celtic, according to Sky Sports.
A significant part of the additional payments will reportedly become due if Celtic qualify for the UEFA Champions League league phase this month. The full package could therefore reach approximately €10.5 million, although only the initial fee would be guaranteed.
The winger has reportedly agreed personal terms on a four-year contract running until June 2030. The 24-year-old arrived in Scotland on Monday night ahead of his medical, according to sources close to the player.
Spanish outlet Cadena SER also reported that the move was close to completion. It placed the guaranteed payment above €6.5 million, with a further €3 million available through variables.
Although the figures differ slightly from the Sky Sports breakdown, both reports describe a deal containing a substantial performance-related component.
His former club, Villarreal, retained 40% of the capital gain from a future sale, which applies to Oviedo’s profit rather than automatically granting Villarreal 40% of the entire transfer fee.
As KingFut previously reported, Hassan had accepted Celtic’s four-year proposal, but the clubs were still negotiating the payment structure.
Celtic’s opening offer of approximately £3.4 million was rejected before the Scottish champions returned with an improved package.
Hassan made 37 La Liga appearances last season and provided three assists. His value rose further during Egypt’s World Cup campaign, particularly after his performance in the round-of-16 defeat to Argentina.
