Al Ahly loanee and Ceramica Cleopatra midfielder Ahmed Kendouci has been called up by the Algerian National team for their upcoming AFCON qualifiers.

Kendouci spent last season on loan from Al Ahly with Ceramica Cleopatra, where he made 34 appearances with the Egyptian League Cup winners scoring 11 goals and assisting nine.

His impressive performances led to him being called up by Algeria’s head coach Vladimir Petković for the September international break.

The 25-year-old is also set to replace OGC Nice midfielder Hicham Boudaoui, who sustained an injury in the third round of Ligue 1 against Angers.

It’s worth noting that Kendouci made his debut for Algeria back in January 2023. He also played in friendlies against Bolivia and South Africa earlier this year and was part of their squad in the World Cup qualification in June.

Algeria will play against Equatorial Guinea on Thursday, September 5th before they meet Liberia next Tuesday to kick off their AFCON qualifiers.
