CR Belouzidad announce new manager

Al Ahly’s Champions League opponents CR Belouzidad announced Abdelkader Amrani, 68, as their new head coach.

CR Belouizdad has parted ways with French manager Corentin Martins just four games into the season after a poor start to the season which saw them win only once in the first four games.

As the team was sitting 13th in the standings with just three points, the club board was prompted to make an early decision to avoid further setbacks.

This will be Amrani’s second stint leading Belouzidad. He took charge of the club before and helped them win the Algerian Cup in the 2018/2019 season.

In his career, Amrani won six trophies. He won the Algerian Cup five times with five different teams and the Algerian League in 2017/2018 with CS Constantine. He was also the Algerian manager of the league three times: in 2004/2005, 2014/2015, and 2015/2016. He left CS Constantine in July 2024.

CR Belouizdad have been placed in Group C in the CAF Champions League alongside reigning African champions Al Ahly, South African side Orlando Pirates, and Ivorian giants Stade d’Abidjan.
