Egypt will face Belgium, Iran, and New Zealand in group stages of the 2026 FIFA World Cup following the official draw held in Washington, D.C.
The Pharaohs booked their place in the tournament with an unbeaten qualifying run, topping Africa’s Group A with 26 points. This will mark the fourth appearance for Egypt at the FIFA World Cup after previous campaigns in 1934, 1990, and 2018.
The 2026 edition is co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico. It is poised to run from 11 June to 19 July, and for the first time will feature 48 national teams divided into 12 groups.
Egypt will kick off their group stage against Belgium, with the match set to take place either at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles or Lumen Field in Seattle. Their second game will be against New Zealand, likely at either SoFi Stadium or BC Place in Vancouver. The third and final group stage match pits Egypt against Iran, scheduled for either BC Place or Lumen Field.
FIFA is expected to confirm the full match schedule, including stadium assignments and kickoff times, on Saturday.
