The draw between Egypt and Iran at the World Cup drew 107.4 million viewers across the Middle East and North Africa on beIN Sports, FIFA said.

The Group G match set the broadcaster’s record for the biggest live match audience of the tournament so far.

The match in Seattle sent Egypt into the World Cup knockout stage for the first time, while Iran was knocked out.

Egypt took an early lead through Mahmoud Saber before Ramin Rezaeian equalised for Iran. Mehdi Taremi had a penalty saved by Mostafa Shobeir, while Iran had a stoppage-time winner ruled out for offside after a VAR review.

The Pharaohs advanced to a round-of-32 match against Australia.
