Trabzonspor winger Mahmoud Trezeguet believes Egypt can overcome Burkina Faso ahead of their highly-anticipated clash on Thursday.

Egypt are set to resume their 2026 World Cup qualification campaign during the current international break as they are set to take on Burkina Faso and Guinea-Bissau respectively.

The Pharaohs already picked up back-to-back wins from their opening two games and currently lead Group A of the qualifiers.

A win could see Hossam Hassan’s men go six points clear at the top of the group, but a defeat would give Burkina Faso the driving seat.

Speaking before their encounter, Mahmoud Trezeguet said: “The players have bought into Hossam Hassan’s philosophy since day one.

“We are all prepared and ready for Burkina Faso. I was injured for ten days but I played in the Turkish Cup final and I am fit for tomorrow’s game.”
