FIFA announced today the international teams’ rankings for July 2024 and witnessed no change for the Pharaohs’ ranking as they remained in the 36th place.
Egypt haven’t played since June 10 when they drew with Guinea-Bissau 1-1 away from home in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
The 36th-placed spot keeps Egypt as the third-highest-ranked team in Africa behind Morocco, who still remains top of the continent despite falling two places down to 14th. Senegal comes in third place in the 19th spot.
Completing the top five are Ivory Coast and Nigeria who come in the 38th and 39th places respectively.
As for the Arab ranking, Egypt is also in third place following Morocco, at 14th, and Qatar who currently sit at the 34th spot. North African rivals Tunisia comes after the Pharaohs in the 41st place and are followed by Algeria at 46th.
Regarding the world rankings, Argentina stays top after lifting the Copa America, ahead of second-placed France, while Euros winners Spain jumped five spots to sit third in the rankings ahead of England and Brazil in the fourth and fifth places respectively.
The biggest mover in the rankings is confirmed to be Copa America quarter-finalist Venezuela who rose 17 places to sit behind Egypt at the 37th. On the other hand, a disappointing Euro 2024 led Czechia to the biggest drop as it fell 13 places to 47th.
