Modern Future FC - Ahmed Refaat

Modern Future FC first team doctor Ahmed Eid has provided a major update on Ahmed Refaat’s medical condition.

Refaat had suffered a heart attack on Monday, March 11th, when Future travelled to face Ittihad of Alexandria in the Egyptian Premier League.

The 30-year-old made his introduction shortly after the hour mark replacing Ali Mahmoud Zaza before collapsing on the pitch with two minutes remaining to full-time.

Despite being rushed to the hospital, Refaat was placed in an intensive care unit after entering a coma with Future’s Ahmed Eid monitoring the player’s state.

After nearly two weeks, Eid has now revealed positive news regarding Refaat’s health but highlighted that it could take a while for him to get back on the pitch again.

“Ahmed Refaat started to breathe normally again and regained consciousness after suffering a coma,” Eid told ON Time Sports.

“He was transferred to an equipped room next to the intensive care unit, and what we know from the doctors there is that things are going well at the moment.

“He’ll undergo more tests in the next few days. It is still hard to determine a return date for him because he needs time to recover.

“We are waiting for the results of his kidney examination and there are some lung problems as well,” he added.
