Egyptian Premier League outfit Modern Future have defeated Al Hilal Benghazi 5-0 in the final round of the CAF Confederation Cup group stages.
Future entered the game in need of at least a draw to secure second place and qualification for the competition’s quarter-finals.
Despite the pressure, Ali Mahmoud Zaza gave the hosts the lead inside the opening 22 minutes with a thumping strike from long range before Mohamed Sadek doubled their advantage heading into the break.
The second half saw Future dominate the proceedings as a brace from Ahmed Atef and an own goal sealed a historic win on home soil.
The victory meant they have now finished second in Group A with 11 points, just two behind leaders USM Alger.
They are also the second Egyptian side to advance to the knockout stages after Cairo giants Zamalek came out on top of Group B.
