Ibrahim Hassan has revealed he hopes Mohamed Salah stays in Europe, but supports a return to Al Ahly or Zamalek.
Egypt national team director Ibrahim Hassan said he would prefer Mohamed Salah to stay in Europe after leaving Liverpool. Ibrahim made the comments as speculation continues over Salah’s next move after the Liverpool winger confirmed he will leave the club at the end of the season.
Additionally, Hassan said he does not support a move to Major League Soccer. He argued that Salah would lose visibility if he left Europe for the United States. He said France, Germany, or Italy would be better options.
He also said the Saudi Pro League would be a suitable option if no major European offer arrives. Then he addressed the possibility of Salah returning to Egyptian football. “If he returns to Egypt, then of course it would be Al Ahly or Zamalek,” Hassan said.
Hassan concluded by saying Salah remains a key figure for Egypt despite missing the current camp through injury. He described the forward as an important part of the national team on and off the pitch.
Salah announced last week that he will leave Liverpool at the end of the season. He departs after nine years at Anfield, 255 goals in 435 appearances, and a trophy haul that includes two Premier League titles and the Champions League.
