Iraqi champions Al-Shorta SC are looking to sign 30-year-old Egyptian striker Hossam Hassan from Smouha in a bid to strengthen their squad.
Al-Shorta SC have reportedly submitted an offer to Smouha for Hassan, proposing a season-long loan deal, which Smouha is yet to respond to.
Hossam Hassan has experience playing outside of Egypt, having spent a season on loan at Ahli Tripoli.
The striker has also played for Egyptian giants Al Ahly, as well as Tala’ea El-Gaish and El-Dakhlya. However, his most notable performances have come with Smouha, where he has made 213 appearances, scoring 70 goals and providing 16 assists.
Al-Shorta SC secured the domestic double last season under Egyptian coach Momen Soliman; however, he announced his departure from the club despite his success.
Al-Shorta aims to bolster their squad to retain their domestic titles and prepare for their upcoming participation in the AFC Champions League.
