The Egyptian Football Federation has appointed former Al Ahly and Zamalek right-back Islam El Shater as manager of the U20 national team.
This decision aims to strengthen support and stability for the youth team as they prepare for the North African qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations, taking place from November 14 to 26.
The tournament, beginning November 14, will see Egypt compete against Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, and Libya. In preparation, the U20 team is currently training in the 6th of October City under new head coach Rogério Micale.
Micale’s coaching staff includes Brazilian Ricardo Resende as a general coach, Alaa Abdo as an assistant coach, Brazilian Moses as a goalkeeping coach, and Leonardo and Joao, a fitness coach and performance analyst respectively.
The staff is further supported by Khaled Sarhan as a translator, Yasser Abdel Aziz as media coordinator, Hajed Al-Antably as team doctor, Salah Ashour as a rehabilitation consultant, and Amr Salman and Ahmed Ehab as administrators. Additionally, Khaled Khafaga serves as the massage specialist, with Alaa Saeed as the mission officer.
