Egypt Olympic national team manager Rogério Micale has commented on Egypt’s tough loss against France in the semi-finals of the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The Pharaohs were so close to securing a historic win over France to reach the Paris 2024 Olympics final; however, a late comeback and a red card saw France come back and win 3-1.

The hosts will now face Spain for the gold medal on Friday 9 August, a day after the Pharaohs face Morocco in the third-placed playoff.
In a post on Instagram, Micale said after the defeat: “It is time to hold our head high. We will continue fighting and now we concentrate on the next game.”
Egypt will play against Morocco on Thursday 8 August in a repeat of the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations final, which saw the Pharaohs lose 2-1 after extra-time.
A win against Morocco will give Egypt its first-ever medal in the football Olympic games, with the team finishing fourth in 1928 and 1964.
