Zamalek boss Jose Gomes is determined to win his first trophy at the club when his side face rivals Al Ahly in the Egypt Cup final.
The Cairo derby was scheduled to take place on Friday as part of the Riyadh Season in Saudi Arabia at the Al Awwal Park.
Al Ahly recently extended their unbeaten run to seven games in all competitions after claiming a 1-0 victory over Young Africans.
Meanwhile, Zamalek convincingly won their group in the CAF Confederation Cup to book a spot in the competition’s quarter-finals.
Jose Gomes spoke before the game and claimed that the two sides have more to offer but vowed to win his first trophy at the club.
“I expect a highly tactical game. It is true that both teams are not at their best right now but we will fight for the title,” Gomes said in the press conference.
“It is important for our fans to be with us on Friday and give us the energy we need because we play our games in Cairo with only 10,000 spectators.
“I started my Al-Ahli Jeddah career by winning the Super Cup, and I look forward to a similar achievement by winning the Egypt Cup title with Zamalek,” he added.
