Al Ahly manager Marcel Koller and Zamalek’s José Gomes have both been nominated for the CAF Manager of the Year award.

Koller’s nomination comes after leading Al Ahly to another CAF Champions League triumph. The Red Devils displayed an impressive run throughout the competition, breaking their own record for consecutive games without a loss in the tournament. Al Ahly also managed to secure the title while conceding just a single goal.

Meanwhile, José Gomes earned his CAF award nomination by guiding Zamalek to victory in the Confederation Cup. He further solidified his achievements by defeating Al Ahly in the African Super Cup, securing the trophy in a dramatic penalty shootout.

The two managers are part of a 10-man shortlist that also features Angola’s Pedro Gonçalves, DR Congo’s Sebastien Desabre, and South Africa’s Hugo Broos, among others.

The CAF awards ceremony is scheduled to take place in Morocco on December 16, 2024.
