Egyptian striker Mostafa Mohamed is reportedly eyeing a January exit from FC Nantes following a recent change in representation.
Mohamed was so close to leaving Nantes last summer but was forced to stay at the Stade de la Beaujoire after no concrete offers materialized.
To reignite his transfer prospects, Mohamed has now enlisted the services of CAA Base, a prominent agency with strong connections in England, in hopes of earning a move to the Premier League.
This move appears to be paying off, as Leicester City has reportedly shown interest in the forward as they are in need of a reliable goal scorer to turn their season around.
According to the French outlet Livefoot, FC Nantes’ president, Waldemar Kita, is reportedly open to offers below €10 million due to Mohamed’s long-standing desire to leave and the club’s need to stabilize its finances ahead of a potentially challenging 2025.
With his contract at Nantes running until June 2027, Mohamed has fallen down the pecking order, starting just four games this season in which he scored once.
Mohamed had initially joined Nantes on loan from Galatasaray in July 2022, before the deal was made permanent for a reported fee of €5.75 million just a year later.
During his time in France, Mohamed scored 20 times and assisted seven in 90 games as he now looks set for a new challenge elsewhere.
If the move to Leicester is successful, Mostafa will become the first-ever Egyptian to represent the Foxes and the third from the country to play in the Premier League this season alongside Mohamed Salah and Sam Morsy.
Mohamed had also attracted interest from Wolverhampton Wanderers, Olympique de Marseille, and Nice, but Nantes reportedly rejected all offers in the summer.
