His time at the White Castle was hugely successful as he managed to win nine trophies with the club including the Egyptian Premier League, the CAF Confederation Cup, and the CAF Super Cup.

In total, Alaa made 181 appearances for Zamalek and was involved in 44 goal contributions, scoring 41 times goals and assisting three as a centre-back.

It remains to be seen whether his transfer to the United Arab Emirates will help him revive his career and get back into the Egyptian national team squad for the 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifiers and the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
