Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Omar Marmoush will be part of Manchester City’s squad for their Premier League clash against Chelsea.
City finalized the signing of the Egyptian forward from Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday, and Marmoush is set to be available for selection at the Etihad tomorrow evening.
The 25-year-old arrives in Manchester after an extraordinary start to the season in Germany, having registered 20 goals and 14 assists in just 26 appearances across all competitions. His impressive form has garnered significant excitement among City fans, and Guardiola has hinted that Marmoush is likely to make his debut against Chelsea.
“Marmoush, I think he will adapt quickly.” Guardiola said during his pre-match press conference.
“[He] will make us strong and I’m pretty sure that the club decided for this prospective player for the future and many years.”

When asked about the training completed so far, Guardiola replied, “We didn’t train much because we travelled. Omar Marmoush yesterday was his first training session.”
On the reasoning behind signing Marmoush, the Catalonian manager gave a straightforward answer, “The reason why was the potential.”
“We thought he is a potential future star for many years with incredible quality in the final third and that is why we did it,” he added.
Manchester City currently sit fifth in the Premier League table, two points behind fourth-placed Chelsea. The match marks the beginning of a tough week for City, who are looking to bounce back after a disappointing 4-2 loss to PSG in the Champions League.
They face another crucial test on Wednesday in a must-win clash against Club Brugge, where Marmoush will also be eligible for selection.
