Mohamed Abdelmonem will not feature in Nice’s Ligue 1 match against Strasbourg after picking up an injury.
Nice manager Franck Haise addressed the defender’s condition, revealing that Abdelmonem sustained a calf muscle injury before the international break.
Abdelmonem was also absent from Egypt’s squad during the November international fixtures. The 25-year-old has recently established himself as a key player in Nice’s starting lineup after initially spending time on the bench following his summer move from Al Ahly.
Since making the move to the French outfit late in the summer transfer window, the former Al Ahly defender has made six Ligue 1 appearances for eighth placed Nice. He has also featured in the Europa League once during a defeat against Hungarian side, Ferencvaros.
