Mohamed Salah made his first Trabzonspor appearance, playing the final 32 minutes of their 1-1 Süper Lig draw away to Kasımpaşa.

The Egypt captain started the opening match of the 2026/27 league season on the bench. Head coach Fatih Tekke introduced Salah in the 58th minute, replacing Metehan Mimaroğlu with the score already level.

Salah moved onto the right side of Trabzonspor’s attack and produced two of their most dangerous second-half moments. The 34-year-old delivered a precise cross into the penalty area in the 69th minute. However, his teammates failed to convert the opening.

Eight minutes later, Salah collected the ball inside the box and sent an angled effort narrowly wide.

Trabzonspor took the lead through another summer signing, Noah Saviolo. The Portuguese winger scored his first goal for the club in the 43rd minute, sending Tekke’s side into half-time ahead.

Kasımpaşa responded shortly after the restart, converting a penalty in the 55th minute to make it 1-1.

Salah’s debut came nine days after he officially signed for Trabzonspor following his departure from Liverpool.

The Turkish club agreed a two-year contract with Salah, keeping him at Papara Park until June 2028.

Trabzonspor’s official financial disclosure guarantees Salah €17 million in each season, consisting of a €10 million salary and a €7 million signing payment.

He can also earn performance-related bonuses and will receive 20% of the revenue from merchandise sold specifically under his name.

Trabzonspor will next host Ferencváros in the first leg of their Europa League play-off on Thursday. If selected, Salah could make both his home and European debut for the club.

The Turkish side then face İstanbul Başakşehir in the Süper Lig before travelling to Hungary for the second leg against Ferencváros.
