Mohamed Salah has called on fans to stop comparing Omar Marmoush to him, emphasizing that the Frankfurt striker needs to carve out his own career path.
Marmoush is enjoying a breakout season with Eintracht Frankfurt, tallying 14 goals and 10 assists in 16 appearances.
His performances have sparked interest from top European clubs, with Liverpool reportedly leading the race to secure his signature as Marmoush views a move to Anfield as a dream.
While comparisons to Salah have been inevitable, the Liverpool star believes such parallels could hinder Marmoush’s development and has urged fans and media alike to give the Frankfurt striker the space to grow without the added burden of living up to someone else’s legacy.
Speaking at the Sharjah Book Conference, Salah addressed the growing parallels drawn between him and his international teammate, saying: “I see Marmoush as a great player with a lot of talent.
“We have to stay away from comparisons so that everything goes better for him.
“People must stop comparing Marmoush to me. He is starting his journey, and I have achieved a lot in my career.
“This puts him under a lot of pressure, and I am sure he does not like it. Let him enjoy his journey and his success.”
Salah himself is in excellent form, with 10 goals and 10 assists in 17 appearances this season. However, he insists that Marmoush should be celebrated for his own achievements rather than being seen as a successor or counterpart.
With Liverpool, Bayern Munich, and Barcelona all reportedly interested in Marmoush, the young forward’s future looks bright.
