Egyptian National Team manager Hossam Hassan has announced the squad for the upcoming games against Mauritania in the AFCON qualifiers.
The Pharaohs will play against Mauritania in Cairo on 7 October 2024 before playing the return leg in Mauritania on 11 October 2024.
Egypt currently sit top of group C with six points from their opening two games, and a double win over Mauritania would seal their spot in the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.
The squad for the game saw the return of OGC Nice defender Mohamed Abdelmonem as well as Zamalek duo Mohamed Awad and Nabil Emad.
On the other hand, Hassan has decided to drop Mohamed Elneny, Ahmed Hegazi, and Emam Ashour to give new players opportunities.
Despite impressing in the Premier League, Ipswich Town skipper Sam Morsy has been left out of the squad yet again alongside Rio Ave striker Ahmed Hassan Kouka.
Meanwhile, Mohamed Salah, Abdelmonem, Hamdi Fathi, Mahmoud Trezeguet, Omar Marmoush, and Mostafa Mohamed, were the only foreign-based players called up.
