Al Ahly legend turned pundit Ahmed Shobier has revealed the real reason behind Percy Tau’s recent exclusion from the Reds’ squad.
The South African superstar hasn’t featured for Al Ahly since March 29 when Al Ahly beat Simba in Tanzania 1-0 in the first-leg of the CAF Champions League quarter-finals.
It was revealed that the reason behind Tau’s absence is a leg injury; however, Ahmed Shobier claims that the player has fallen out with his boss Marcel Koller because he questions his decisions.
Shobier believes that Tau has been reacting negatively to not being on the pitch, something which made Marcel Koller exclude him from the most recent games against ZED FC and Zamalek.
“Percy Tau is not injured. There was fallout between Tau and his manager Marcel Koller as the player doesn’t like to be on the bench, and wants always to start like any other player,” Shobier said.
“However there are coaches who do not want players to complain or be angry about their technical decisions.”
Percy Tau has fled with the rest of the squad ahead of Al Ahly’s vital clash with TP Mazembe in the first-leg of the CAF Champions League semi-finals, set to take place in Lubumbashi.
