OFFICIAL: Ahmed Eid to miss France clash, replaced by Hamdi

Ahmed Eid has been officially declared unfit for the France clash in the semi-finals of the Paris 2024 Football event.

The right-back picked up a hamstring injury against Paraguay and is expected to miss the remainder of the tournament.

As a result, Rogerio Micale has decided to call up ENPPI’s Mohamed Hamdi from the alternate list to replace Eid, as per the competition’s regulations.

According to the competition’s rules, if a player on the submitted squad list suffered an injury or illness, that player would have been able to be replaced by one of the players in the alternate list.

Hamdi had replaced Kouka in Egypt’s opening against the Dominican Republic before the Al Ahly midfielder recovered from injury and Hamdi returned back to the alternate list.

Hamdi, 21, plies his trade at ENPPI where he plays mainly on the left side of the pitch and has been linked with a move to both Al Ahly and Zamalek in the previous period.
