Al Ahly have officially announced the signing of Moroccan international Youssef Belammari from Raja Casablanca.

The 27-year-old left-back has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with the Egyptian champions.

The move comes as the Cairo club continues to reinforce its squad ahead of a demanding schedule.

Belammari marked his exit from Raja on Wednesday with a farewell message on Instagram, thanking the club’s supporters and staff and describing his time in green as a defining chapter.

“Today I reach the farewell station, after a journey that will remain firmly etched in my heart and memory for as long as I live,” he wrote.

Adding, “I leave today with a clear conscience, because I never held back for this jersey for a single moment.”

Al Ahly are expected to register Belammari on both their domestic and CAF rosters. Local reports said the club moved to adjust its squad list to make room for the defender. Moroccan centre-back Ashraf Dari was reportedly removed from the registered list to accommodate his compatriot.

Notably, Belammari was part of Morocco’s AFCON squad, which finished runners-up after losing the final to Senegal. The defender arrived in Cairo on Wednesday evening to start training for Al Ahly’s upcoming CAF Champions League match.
