Al Ain have officially signed Argentino U20 talent, Gino Infantino, from AFC Fiorentina on a season-long loan.

With the Emirati transfer window closing on Tuesday, 1 October 2024, the club is pushing to strengthen its roster ahead of the upcoming clash against Al Ahly in the newly introduced FIFA Intercontinental Cup.

Gino Infantino, who made 10 appearances for Fiorentina last season, scoring one goal, has also been a key figure for the Argentine U20 national team, netting two goals in 16 appearances.

His versatility makes him a valuable asset, as he can play in multiple positions including attacking midfielder, central midfielder, and on both wings.

Before joining Fiorentina, Infantino was with CA Rosario Central in Argentina.

Al Ain, determined to defend their AFC Champions League title, have been active in the transfer market, making 11 signings for the new season.

Among their new acquisitions are Argentine winger Mateo Sanabria, Portuguese center-back Fábio Cardoso, Paraguayan winger Matías Segovia, Argentine left-back Felipe Salomoni, Brazilian center-back Rafael Pereira, and Moroccan defensive midfielder Mehdi Moubarik.

Al Ain will face Al Ahly in Cairo on 29 October 2024 in the second round of the Intercontinental Cup.
