Zamalek have officially confirmed the signing of 26-year-old Polish winger Konrad Michalak from Saudi club Ohod on a season-long loan.
Michalak’s international transfer card arrived on Thursday, and the player also landed in Egypt the same day to undergo his medical and finalize the move.
He has already also been registered in Zamalek’s squad for the CAF competitions, making him eligible to play against Al Ahly in the CAF Super Cup.
The versatile winger is capable of playing on both the right and left flanks, adapting his position based on the opponent and tactical needs.
Konrad Michalak will become the first-ever Polish to play in the Egyptian Premier League as Zamalek fans will hope he leaves his mark on the team.
Michalak began his career with Polish giants Legia Warsaw and has since played for several clubs, including Russia’s Akhmat Grozny and Turkish sides MKE Ankaragücü, Çaykur Rizespor, and Konyaspor.
Over his career, he has made 275 appearances, scoring 29 goals and providing 32 assists.
On the international stage, Michalak last received a call-up to the Polish national team in June 2022.
The White Knights have been active in the summer transfer window, securing Omar Faraj, Mahmoud Bentayg, and Mohamed Hamdi. However, the deal for Aaron Boupendza appears to have fallen through.
