Pyramids FC have officially signed Sodiq Awujoola from Ceramica Cleopatra, marking their fourth signing of the new season.
The deal sees the Nigerian forward join Pyramids FC on a season-long loan with an option to buy. In exchange, Ceramica Cleopatra will receive Mahmoud “Zalaka” and Fagrie Lakay also on loan with an to make the deal permanent.
Awujoola had a contract with Ceramica Cleopatra that runs until the summer of 2027, having joined the club at the beginning of last season from Smouha for a fee of 24 million EGP.
Last season, Awujoola played 34 matches for Ceramica Cleopatra, contributing to 23 goals by scoring 12 and assisting 11. The 23-year-old Nigerian primarily plays as a right winger but can also operate as an attacking midfielder.
He also helped Ceramica win the Egyptian League Cup, beating Tala’ea El Gaish in the final.
Awujoola ranked fourth in the Egyptian Premier League for most assists, providing seven, and also placed third for overall goal contributions in the league, with 18, trailing only Wessam Abou Ali of Al Ahly and Fiston Mayele of Pyramids.
Pyramids are preparing for the Egyptian Super Cup, which is scheduled to take place in the UAE this October. They will face Zamalek on October 20 in the semifinals, held in Abu Dhabi.
This marks Pyramids’ third consecutive appearance in the Super Cup as they aim for their first title in the competition.
