Zamalek has officially activated the purchase option for Mahmoud Bentayg, securing his permanent transfer from French club Saint-Etienne.
The club confirmed that Bentayg has signed a three-year contract, keeping him at Zamalek until the end of the 2027-28 season. Mahmoud Bentayg initially joined Zamalek on loan last summer with an option to buy for €1 million, which the club has now finalized.
Since arriving, the 25-year-old left-back has featured in 21 matches across all competitions for the White Knights, contributing one goal and three assists.
Zamalek, currently third in the Egyptian Premier League with 35 points, will next face Smouha in the Egypt Cup quarter-finals on Saturday.
