Omar Marmoush spoke about his experience at the Etihad so far, as well as the team’s push for a top-four finish following their latest draw.

The Egyptian forward was the standout performer in Manchester City’s 2-2 draw with Brighton on Saturday, winning a penalty that was converted by Erling Haaland, before scoring a stunning goal from outside the box. The first-half strike marked his fourth goal for the club following his hat-trick against Newcastle last month.

Reflecting on his journey so far, Marmoush spoke about his efforts to absorb as much knowledge as possible from those around him.

“The players and the staff are amazing here. I’m just trying to learn everything that I can and listen to the coach and everything that he tells us,” he said.

The 26-year-old continued, “I scored today, but in the end, it wasn’t enough for the three points, so it’s not the best feeling. We’ll keep going.”

Following his latest goal, Omar Marmoush has now increased his tally to a combined 37 goals and assists so far this season, making him one of the top performers in Europe’s top five leagues.

The draw leaves City fifth in the Premier League table with 48 points from 29 games, one point behind Chelsea in the battle for Champions League qualification.

However, Marmoush remains focused on securing a top-four finish, “It’s a challenge, but we will do everything,” he stated. “We will put our head down and try to work as hard as we can. When we’re on the pitch, we always give 100%, and hopefully, in the end, we will secure that place.”

The forward finished off by saying, “We have to try and show our quality more, have more confidence on the ball, keep possession more, and just do what Manchester City always did.”
