Al Ahly forward Percy Tau has been named in South Africa’s preliminary squad for their final two matches in the AFCON qualifiers.

Hugo Broos, the head coach of South Africa, announced the initial squad list, which includes Percy Tau after his absence from the team’s September and October AFCON qualifiers.

Percy Tau was previously left out of the October camp, with Broos saying the forward’s personal issues were the reason for his exclusion from the squad for the third and fourth rounds of qualifiers against Congo.

Back then, the Belgian coach implied that it might be time for the former Brighton to explore other opportunities, saying, “Maybe he’s looking for a move to a different club where he can play with fewer issues and be happier.”

Percy Tau’s last appearance for South Africa came in June against Nigeria, a World Cup qualifier that ended in a 1-1 draw.

The Bafana Bafana will face Uganda away before hosting South Sudan on November 11th and 15th respectively.
