Pitso Mosimane has taken the full blame following Abha’s humiliating 8-0 defeat to Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League.
Ronaldo scored his 65th career hat-trick and racked up five goal contributions as Al Nassr gave Abha their biggest-ever defeat in the Saudi Pro League 8-0 on Tuesday evening.
The defeat kept Abha in the relegation zone with 22 points, only two away from safety, with still eight games left to be played.
Speaking after the record defeat, Abha coach Pitso said: “I take full responsibility. We must accept the loss after committing many mistakes and learn from this harsh lesson.
“Our main task now remains to survive relegation and remain in the Saudi Pro League.”
When asked about the reason behind keeping Saad Bguir on the bench against Al-Nassr, the South African coach responded: “Would we have won if I had brought him on? Why didn’t you ask me this question when we won?
“We awarded Al-Nassr five goals through egregious mistakes. I apologize to Mohamed Al-Qahtani, he is a young player and needs to learn from his mistakes in the upcoming matches.”
