Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al Khelaifi has dismissed rumors linking the French club to Liverpool star Mohamed Salah.
Speaking to Sky Sports Germany, Nasser Al Khelaifi denied any interest in signing the Egyptian winger, even if he becomes a free agent, responding to the rumors, “It’s NOT true.”
He continued, “He’s a fantastic and amazing player, but we’ve never considered Salah, to be honest. We know every club would love to have him, but this rumor about us is simply not true.”
The Egyptian’s future has been under the microscope in recent weeks as his Liverpool contract is set to expire at the end of the season. Mo Salah has recently admitted after the Manchester City game that it’s possible this would his final game at Anfield against The Cityzens.
However, according to The Athletic, Salah is open to a one-year contract extension at Liverpool but is growing increasingly frustrated with the club’s handling of negotiations.
Despite the ongoing contract saga, Salah remains in ramarkable form. The 31 year old has scored 11 goals and provided seven assists in 13 Premier League matches this season. His performances have been a key factor in placing Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table, as well as the Champions League table.
