Pyramids FC captured their first CAF Super Cup crown after edging Morocco’s RS Berkane 1–0 in Cairo on Saturday night.

Pyramids star forward, Fiston Mayele, was the hero for the Egyptian champions, firing home the decisive goal in the 75th minute after a clever pass from Mohamed Chibi. The Congolese forward’s strike inside the box left Berkane goalkeeper Munir Mohamedi with no chance.

Pyramids FC were the more dangerous side throughout the night. However, Berkane threatened intermittently through Paul Bassene, but Pyramids goalkeeper Ahmed El Shenawy produced key saves to preserve the clean sheet.

Despite Berkane pushed for a late equaliser, Pyramids’ defence held firm through six minutes of stoppage time to secure the title and cement their growing status as a continental powerhouse.

Under Croatian coach Krunoslav Jurčić, Pyramids have now completed a remarkable double, adding the CAF Super Cup to their first-ever CAF Champions League title.

The victory also served as payback for Pyramids FC, who lost their first continental final to RS Berkane back in 2020, falling 1–0 in the CAF Confederation Cup decider in Rabat.

Saturday’s triumph marked Egypt’s 14th CAF Super Cup title overall, with Ahly holding a record eight wins and Zamalek five.
