Salah

Liverpool and Egypt star Mohamed Salah has been named among the 30 players shortlisted for the 2025 Ballon d’Or.

The 33-year-old joins a star-studded list that includes PSG’s Ousmane Dembele, Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappe, and Barcelona sensation Lamine Yamal.

Despite missing out on Champions League glory, Mohamed Salah played a key role in Liverpool’s Premier League title win, finishing the season with 34 goals and 23 assists across all competitions. His form saw him equal goal involvement records set in the old 42-game format, reigniting his place among the game’s best.

Salah is joined on the list by Liverpool teammates Alexis Mac Allister, Florian Wirtz, and Virgil van Dijk.

Elsewhere at PSG, fresh off a historic treble and first-ever Champions League triumph, lead the nominations with nine players, including Ousmane Dembele, who has been deemed as the favorite for the award. Other PSG names on the list include Gianluigi Donnarumma, Achraf Hakimi, Vitinha, Fabian Ruiz, and Nuno Mendes.

Barcelona’s strong season, capped by a domestic double, sees Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, Pedri, and Lamine Yamal also make the cut.

The winner of the 2025 Ballon d’Or will be crowned on Monday, 22 September, at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris.
